Guzelyurt (Morfu)

Guzelyurt (also known as Morphou) is a city in the north of Cyprus, which is located in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is one of the important administrative centers of the country.

Located on the northwestern coast of Cyprus, it has a strategic position, being close to the border between the TRNC and the Republic of Cyprus. Greek and Turkish are the official languages in this region.

Historically, Guzelyurt is a cosmopolitan city with a population of Turks, Greeks and other ethnic groups. It was one of the centers of the conflict that divided the island of Cyprus into two parts in 1974. Since then, Cyprus has remained divided and Guzelyurt remains an important symbol of this division.

Guzelyurt is a tourist center with beautiful beaches and resort hotels. Tourists come here to enjoy the sun, the sea and the variety of activities this region has to offer. The city is also known for its historical and cultural significance, including ancient sites and architectural monuments.
