To travel to Northern Cyprus, you can use several transport options:
Air travel: The most convenient way to get to Northern Cyprus is air travel. You can find flights to Ercan Airport, which is located near the city of Lefkosa (Nicosia), Northern Cyprus. Regular flights operate from various cities in Turkey such as Istanbul, Ankara or Antalya. After arriving at Ercan Airport, you can take a taxi or bus to your destination.
Sea route: If you prefer to travel by sea, you can take ferry flights from the port of Tashi in Turkey to the port of Kyrenia (Girne) in Northern Cyprus. Regular ferries connect ports in Mersin, Turkey, and Girne. Upon arrival at the port of Kyrenia, you can take a taxi or public transport to your accommodation.
Land route: There are also possibilities to cross the border between South and North Cyprus by land through the checkpoints. One of the most popular checkpoints is the Agios Dometios/Metehan checkpoint. You can use public transport or a rental car to get to the checkpoint and cross the border on foot. After crossing the border, you can use a taxi or buses to move further around Northern Cyprus.
