Northern Cyprus, also known as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), is an unrecognized regional administrative unit located in the north of the island of Cyprus. Therefore, the rules of entry to Northern Cyprus differ from the rules of entry to officially recognized Cyprus.
To visit Northern Cyprus you will usually need:
A passport that will be valid for at least another 6 months after the expected end date of your trip.
Citizens of many countries require a visa to visit Northern Cyprus. As a rule, a visa is issued upon entry into the country in the form of a stamp in the passport or in the form of a paper insert with data on entry and the validity period of the visa. When crossing overland checkpoints, entry data is recorded only in the border service system.
When entering Northern Cyprus through international airports or seaports, border control may be carried out. Be prepared to present documents confirming the purpose of your trip, hotel reservation or address of stay, as well as means to cover your financial needs during your stay.
